Internship - Finance

FLEXSPACE, the 2nd fastest-growing company in South Carolina, has an immediate opportunity for a summer internship in our Finance Department. This role will be based at our corporate headquarters in Charleston, South Carolina.

Roles and responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Accounts Payable (AP): prepare and process payments for vendor invoices and other financial obligations in accordance with internal accounting policies. Reconcile AP ledger and prepare reports.

  • Accounts Receivable (AR): Record, verify, and post payments received by the organization Ensure transactions are recorded promptly and accurately in accordance with internal accounting policies. Reconcile payments with AR ledger and prepare reports of delinquent accounts.

  • Performing routine accounting activities such as data entry, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports.

  • Review codes and verify transactions including billings, invoices, checks, and journal entries

  • Complete moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools.

  • Assist Investment team with financial forecasting to project business performance during a future reporting period.

  • Assist Investment team with financial modeling to gather information from forecasts and other data, then simulate scenarios to analyze what impact they might have on the company’s financial health.

 

Requirements and additional information:

  • Must be rising junior or senior

  • At least one year of collegiate level accounting or finance courses

  • In office position with flexible hours

  • Paid for parking

  • $20 per hour
